BRANDING
Opportunity
As The Crisis Center evolved into The Ember Center, the organization needed a new identity that reflected its renewed mission while remaining compassionate and empowering for survivors of domestic abuse. The challenge was to create a brand that inspired hope, resilience, and healing while thoughtfully addressing the sensitive nature of the organization's work.
Insight
Early concepts explored the symbolism of an ember—a small but enduring source of warmth, light, and renewal. Through stakeholder surveys and focus groups, we discovered that while the idea of fire represented resilience and transformation, it also required careful consideration to avoid unintended associations. This feedback guided the development of an identity that balanced strength with empathy, ensuring the brand felt welcoming, supportive, and authentic.
Impact
The final identity introduced a meaningful visual system rooted in hope, renewal, and new beginnings. By grounding the design in research and community feedback, the rebrand provided The Ember Center with a compassionate, recognizable identity that reflects its mission and fosters trust across every touchpoint.
